Welcome to the website of Benjamin W. Verdine, MD. Dr. Verdine has generated this website primarily for patient education, as well as to answer many common questions patients have before a visit, as well as ones that people forget to ask.
Dr. Verdine enjoys treating a wide spectrum of cosmetic, reconstructive, and hand problems, both soft tissue and orthopedic in nature. He has significant experience in each of these areas, and at a visit, will take ample time to explain the cause, as well as potential solutions to the problem. His primary goal is to help patients understand the issues they must confront in sometimes stressful and difficult times, but to allow the patient to make the decision that is best for their situation. He prides himself in making patients feel at-ease and free to ask anything.
Dr. Verdine is a native of Washington, Missouri. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, and graduated with a degree in Biology. He attended medical school at Washington University as well, where he was honored to be inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. He went on to complete a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He supplemented his hand training with an Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his training in 2005, and has been in practice in the community since.
He is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification for Hand Surgery. He is an active member in the Missouri State Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
